Tobacco Prevention/Intervention

The Health Federation offers free professional development to provide professionals with information regarding addiction to nicotine and how to support individuals hoping to quit. Funded through the Philadelphia Department of Public Health's Smoke Free Philly Initiative, we offer two courses. Tobacco Exposure and Young Children is a two hour course designed for early childhood educators, parents, and caregivers. The Tobacco Brief Intervention Training is designed for a variety of professionals to support them in having one-on-one conversations with a consumer who smokes. providing information about local resources and giving participants a chance to practice having quit smoking conversations. This workshop can be provided in one, two or three hour lengths.
