JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization’s trauma informed training portfolio and supervision of training team staff. Also responsible for development and delivery of live, virtual live and on-demand, on-line training activities on topics in his or her portfolio which can include providing HIV/AIDS care, trauma and trauma informed care, language access, organizational development, child development and other areas relevant to the mission of the Health Federation of Philadelphia. Overall responsibility for knowledge of current training programs and ability to substitute for absent trainers as well as train new staff. Writes, presents and/or publishes program/grant reports, journal articles and poster sessions as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Responsibilities/Duties
- Responsible for day-to-day management of specific training programs/grants on topics in his or her portfolio and has familiarity with content in other trainers’ portfolios.
- Supervises (and may hire) and/or directs work of new and current trainers.
- Designs training curricula and identifies/creates materials to meet the needs of specific training audiences.
- Ensures delivery of training using a variety of methods, including small group exercises, role plays, case studies and multi-media; coordinates use of guest trainers/consultants.
- Evaluates training processes and results; provides follow-up training, technical assistance, consultation, coaching and mentoring to programs as needed.
- Maintains and reports training and project data to supervisor.
- Continuously does research and attends professional development activities to maintain and expand content expertise.
- Represents the Health Federation at meetings.
- Oversight of individual training contracts and budgets.
- Reviews all training evaluations, provides feedback to consultants and staff trainers and engages in continuous quality improvement of HFP training products.
- Develops collaborative relationships with related agencies.
- Produces articles, flyers, and other materials to market training and consultation topics in his or her portfolio. Presents at professional conferences.
Qualifications
Education
Master’s in Education or Public Health, Social Work, Education or a closely related field, or additional 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience
- At least 3 years of experience supervising staff.
- At least 5 years current experience in both designing and delivering professional development for relevant audiences.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and delivering virtual professional development experience and planning and facilitating complex meetings.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a community-based health center, social service, educational or other health care organization.
- Content expertise in at least 2 areas related to HFP mission and other public health issues, or organizational development.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with co-workers, clients and trainees.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Bi-lingual a strong plus.
- Instructional design knowledge a strong plus.
Position Type and Work Schedule:
Full time hybrid position, Flex hours Monday- Friday 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Option to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Occasional weekend and evening hours.
Travel:
Weekly to bi-weekly local travel to multiple sites and community meetings. Occasional state and national travel for training activities, conferences and professional development.
Physical Demands:
Standard office setting. Travel to multiple sites throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia area.
