Leslie Lieberman to Present during Building a National Movement to Prevent Trauma and Foster Resilience: Workshop Series

On Friday January 7 at 1:00 pm, HFP's Leslie Lieberman will present the first of eight workshops during Building a National Movement to Prevent Trauma and Foster Resilience - a free series of workshops every other Friday, from 1-5 pm.  The workshops are presented by the Campaign for Trauma-informed Policy and Practice, the National Prevention Science Coalition to Improve Lives, & PACEs Connection. More than 1,000 attendees have registered for the event.

According to the event website, "The Building a National Movement to Prevent Trauma and Foster Resilience: Workshop Series will bring experts from sectors across the country to accelerate the movement by providing stakeholders, advocates and practitioners with the tools necessary to encourage and assist systems in every community in integrating trauma-informed, resilience-focused, and healing-centered approaches and principles into their daily operations, thereby making America trauma-informed.

Lieberman's session will describe lessons learned from  the Mobilizing Action for Resilient Communities (MARC) initiative.  MARC began as a learning collaborative of 14 cross-sector, community-based networks organized around the science of adverse childhood experiences, trauma and resilience.  Findings from MARC's cross-site evaluation, along with a national survey of  more than 250 similar networks, will be shared, demonstrating both the reach and power of  these groups to prevent ACEs, heal trauma and foster resilient communities.
