Health Federation of Philadelphia Names José A. Rodriguez, MS Senior Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Philadelphia, PA - The Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP) announced the hiring of José A. Rodriguez, MS to fill its newly created Senior Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion position. For nearly four decades, HFP has actively worked to advance justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion (JDEI) and health equity for individuals and families in the greater Philadelphia region.  In order to build upon this important work, Health Federation leadership along with the Board of Directors, led by a Board DEI Committee and with support from external consultants, prioritized the need to hire a Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion who will work both internally at the Health Federation and with its network of member health centers.

"We are ready and excited to collaborate with José," shared Health Federation CEO Natalie Levkovich. "Our commitment to JDEI has been both implicit, embedded in our mission and policies, and explicitly displayed in our actions. However, we don't know what we don't know so having a guide with José's experience will move us along a continuous path of improvement," she continued.

Rodriguez comes to HFP with a wealth of experience in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education settings, and has more than 25 years of experience in the field as a JDEI professional. He is an experienced JDEI trainer, facilitator and coach. He is a primary champion for creating and promoting opportunities for dialogue toward an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, and has been part of a JDEI directors' peer group across a consortium of colleges in the Philadelphia region who execute inter-institutional initiatives.

"I'm excited to join HFP, a leading organization which focuses on health equity throughout the greater Philadelphia area, on strengthening their JDEI initiatives. I am looking forward to collaborating with our Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) partners in building and enhancing their JDEI strategic plans. I'm joining an organization that has done a lot of work and self reflection within the JDEI space. I know in the near future we will be stronger with our JDEI practices and policies and be one of the leaders in this space within the health equity sector," shared Rodriguez.
