The National Health Corps Philadelphia, one of six operating sites of the National Health Corps (NHC), was established in 1994 with the mission to foster healthy communities by connecting those who need it most with health and wellness education, benefits and services, while developing tomorrow's compassionate health leaders. Each year, the NHC Philadelphia recruits members who will serve at least 1700 hours over 46 weeks in community health centers, federally qualified health centers and other organizations to improve long term health outcomes in Philadelphia and the surrounding communities.
