Health Federation of Philadelphia CEO Natalie Levkovich Honored with Collaborative Family Healthcare Association’s Don Bloch Award

Philadelphia, PA – On October 19, 2019, the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA) honored Health Federation of Philadelphia CEO Natalie Levkovich with its prestigious Don Bloch Award during the CFHA annual conference in Denver, Colorado.

The Don Bloch Award, CFHA’s primary organizational award of significance since 2007, is named for Don Bloch, MD, the award’s first recipient and an influential and seminal founder of CFHA. The award recognizes an individual whose work and character exemplifies Bloch and thus advances the field of collaborative care in an epic manner.

Levkovich, HFP’s CEO, has led the organization since 1987, four years after its inception.  Her visionary leadership and forward thinking has led to better care for generations of southeastern Pennsylvania residents.  She brought together health centers, payers, and national experts to forge a highly successful integration model now functioning in almost all health centers in Southeastern PA, as well as other primary care sites. She continues to be a national thought and practice leader in the movement to integrate physical and behavioral health in primary care.

“I am deeply grateful for this honor,” shared Levkovich. “My work for the last 35 years has focused on increasing access to comprehensive and high quality healthcare for under-resourced and marginalized populations with a strong emphasis on strengthening systems and practice. My journey to promote integrated behavioral health began in 2005 and has led to some success in accelerating the adoption and robust expansion of behavioral health integration into primary care in the Philadelphia region. While I have been gratified to create a structure for training, advocacy and ongoing process improvement to support the talented and dedicated behavioral health providers and clinical teams who do the hard work of caring for our vulnerable patient populations, everything I know and believe about integrated care I have learned from CFHA and those affiliated with the association. It is, therefore, particularly moving and totally humbling to receive this award, named for CFHA’s founder, from a community to which I owe so much and that represents the innovators, thought leaders, colleagues, and now many dear friends, whom I love and admire,” she continued.
